Developing Tools for Data Collection in Empirical Legal Research
This lecture will benefit students by providing them with practical skills in designing effective data collection tools, essential for conducting empirical legal research. They will learn to create surveys, interviews, and observation methods tailored to legal studies, enhancing their ability to gather reliable data. This knowledge will not only improve their research quality but also prepare them for legal reforms and policy analysis, making them more competent in addressing real-world legal issues.

Dr. Pyali Chatterjee is the Head of the Department at the Faculty of Law, ICFAI University, Raipur, Chattisgarh, India. She has completed her Post Doc. fellowship in "New Technologies and Law" from MICHR - Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria - Italy, in 2022. Recently she has finished her The Central Asian Legal Research (CALR) Fellowship from Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL), Uzbekistan, from April 2023 to February 2024.
She has more than 10 years of academic experience and 3 years of corporate experience. Apart from teaching, she is very much inclined towards the legal research arena. She has extensive experience in research, having published more than 50 research papers to date in Scopus indexed journals, SCI, WOS, UGC recognised journals, foreign journals, etc. She is the author of 4 books and has edited one book with other co-editors. She holds five copyrights in her own name and has six patents along with others. She has presented more than 30 research papers at overseas conferences (such as Italy, Paris, Amsterdam, Sri Lanka, Romania, Hungary, Malaysia) and national and international conferences. She has been awarded various research awards by different organisations. Her areas of research interest include women's rights, health law, gender justice, and criminal law. She has delivered many lectures at various national and overseas universities including FDP conducted by Ministry of Higher Education.
